Starting and finishing in the capital city of Hanoi, you’ll ride the famous “Ha Giang Loop” along amazing roads that traverse mountains, jungles, remote hill tribe villages, and some truly remarkable scenery.

Day 1 Arrival in Hoi An
Upon arrival in Hoi An, you’ll be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll meet your tour guide at the hotel. Together, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the local cuisine and customs.

Day 2 Ha Noi to Thac Ba Lake
As we ride out of the bustling city of Hanoi, we soon find ourselves in an ancient landscape of rice paddies, where we may encounter the occasional water buffalo grazing in the fields.
Continuing, we pass through tea plantations and small villages before reaching the stunning lake at Vu Linh, an ideal spot for unforgettable photo opportunities.

Day 3 Thac Ba to Hoang Su Phi
We start the day riding along the lake shore as we head north through traditional hill tribe areas. For lunch, we have the opportunity to savour the delicious local cuisine of the hill tribes and observe their way of life.
In the afternoon, we continue our journey to see the awe-inspiring, giant-stepped rice paddy terraces of Hoang Su Phi. A quick detour to ride over a wobbly cable bridge adds a bit of excitement to the ride.

Day 4 Hoang Su Phi to Quan Ba
We begin the day riding along small roads through impressive rice terraces, carved out of the mountainsides over centuries. Next, we find ourselves on the historic Route 4, built during French colonial times, which winds through the mountains and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Our route climbs up into the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, one of UNESCO’s globally recognized Geoparks. The area is home to a variety of stunning natural features, including karst mountains, caves, and waterfalls.
The breathtaking views from the top of Heaven’s Gate, at Quan Ba, offer a great spot to stop and take photos, providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Crossing a small cable bridge, we spend the night in a small Dao Tribe village, giving us the opportunity to experience the culture and way of life of the Dao people.

Day 5 Quan Ba to Dong Van
Our road winds around, up, and over some of the steepest and most impressive scenery in the country, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
We take the opportunity to visit an old French fort dating back to colonial times, which played a significant role in the region’s past.
Next, we ride on to the magnificent Hmong king’s palace, from where he ruled the area.
Finally, our route takes us to the famous Ha Giang Loop, an essential ride for anyone wanting to say they have truly experienced the North of Vietnam.

Day 6 Dong Van
Today, we relax at the most northerly point of our journey.
For those who wish to push their limits, there is an optional half-day ride to Vietnam’s northernmost point, the Lung Cu Flag Tower.
Here, you can stand on the Chinese border, but be careful not to get too close!
Later, discover the quiet town of Dong Van, with its mix of hill tribe cultures and traditional architecture.

Day 7 Dong Van to Pac Bo
We start the day on the mighty Ma Pi Leng Pass, a winding road that cuts through towering limestone cliffs, lush valleys, and terraced rice fields. This route offers countless incredible viewpoints, and if time permitted, we could stop for photos every 100 meters!
Next, we ride along the newly reopened Route 4, which runs along the Chinese border and passes through traditional villages, lush forests, and rugged mountains.
As we ride through the Khau Coc Cha Mountain Pass, you can try to count the switchbacks if you can—there are many!
Finally, we visit the tomb and temple of a revolutionary hero from the French war. This scenic setting offers a glimpse into the history of Vietnam’s struggle for freedom.

Day 8 Pac Bo to Ban Gioc
We start the day by searching for 260-million-year-old fossils preserved in the towering rock formations of the high mountains.
Next, we come across crazy rock formations at “God’s Eye Mountain” that seem to defy gravity. These extraordinary structures, weathered by time and the elements, have taken on otherworldly shapes resembling giant sculptures.
We then enter the Nguom Ngao Cave, where we can explore a hidden world filled with towering rock formations. The interplay of light and shadow creates an atmosphere that enhances the awe-inspiring beauty of this subterranean wonderland.
To end the day, we arrive at the giant cascades of Ban Gioc Waterfall, where waters plunge over a towering cliff, creating a majestic natural spectacle amidst a lush green landscape.

Day 9 Ban Gioc to Ba Be Lake
We begin the day by winding our way through deserted mountain roads and lush bamboo forests.
Next, we pass through small villages and towns that rarely see foreign tourists, providing a glimpse into rural Vietnamese life.
We then pause our ride to take a boat across the lake at Ba Be National Park, where we can enjoy the serene beauty of the area.
Later, we visit the Fairy Pond, which boasts crystal-clear blue waters that shimmer under the sunlight.

Day 10 Ba Be Lake to Binh Gia
Today, we encounter even more dramatic, towering limestone mountains, lush forests, and thrilling adventures.
Our journey takes us through the Nguom Ngao Cave, a 1 km-long natural wonder adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites.
Next, we visit Bac Son, a place of historical significance where the Vietnamese fought back against French colonial rule.
In the evening, we stay in a traditional hill tribe stilt house in a small village, experiencing the unique culture and hospitality of the local people.

Day 11 Binh Gia to Ha Noi
Today marks our last day of riding as we make our way through rice paddies and farmlands to start the day.
As we head back towards the city, we pass through fields where horses graze.
Taking a direct route, we arrive before the traffic gets too busy.
We celebrate our adventure with a final meal in Hanoi, reflecting on the experiences we’ve shared and the unforgettable memories we’ve made—a fitting end to an extraordinary adventure.

Inclusions
Accommodation.
This refers to the places where participants will stay overnight during the expedition. The specific details about the accommodation, such as the type of lodging and its amenities, are usually mentioned in the daily itinerary.
Motorbike Mechanic.
This indicates the presence of a mechanic who is knowledgeable about motorbikes and can provide assistance and maintenance throughout the expedition. They are responsible for addressing any mechanical issues or breakdowns that may occur during the journey.
01 backup vehicle to carry luggage.
A backup vehicle is provided to carry luggage. Participants can store their belongings in the backup vehicle, allowing them to ride their motorbikes without carrying heavy baggage.
Experienced English-speaking road captain.
The road captain is a knowledgeable and experienced individual who leads the tour. They are fluent in English and guide the participants throughout the journey, ensuring smooth navigation and addressing any concerns or questions along the way.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 411cc.
This specifies the type of motorbike provided for the expedition. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a popular model known for its reliability and suitability for adventure or off-road riding.
Fuel.
Fuel for the motorbikes is included in the expedition package. This ensures that participants have a sufficient fuel supply to cover the distances travelled during the expedition.
Exclusions
- Personal expenses like Telephone, Laundry, Tips Table Drinks etc.
- Any type of insurance-Medical, Accidental, theft
- Any Airfare/Rail fare other than what is mentioned in “Inclusions”
- The cost incurred to transfer or tow the motorbike in case it is dropped on the way (Till our main office).
- Any cost incurred due to extension, change of itinerary due to natural calamities, roadblocks, vehicle breakdown, union issues and factors beyond our control (to be paid by the client directly on the spot)
- Anything that is not mentioned in the Inclusion sections.
- Tipping for the mechanic, backup driver, and guide, a suggested range is between £50 and £200, depending on the quality of service provided.
Important Informations
Things To Carry
Bike Gear (* required)
The easiest way to bring your riding gear is by wearing it on the flight if you need to transfer onto a smaller, national flight with luggage restrictions (Please check before you leave home). Should you only fly international flights to the meeting point, it’s easy to pack all this gear into a duffel bag, which can be folded and kept with your luggage which will travel in the backup van for the duration of your motorbike expdition.

Confirmation Policy
The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking
In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
Booking & payment conditions:
A deposit of 10% of the total cost of the Expedition is required at the time of booking.
The full payment (the remaining 90%) has to be done until 2 weeks before the start of the Expedition.

We require a minimum strength of 4 riders to operate one group with Backup.
If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the expedition operator on account of a hotel stay, transportation, meals, etc. extra bill will be raised.
Neither Motorbike Expeditions nor the participating partners/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.
Motorbike Expeditions is not responsible for any change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like changes in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomena, etc.
If any group member wants to leave the group in between the expedition then he/she has to pay the cost of transportation motorbike from the point of leaving the tour till the Main office drop.
Group members would have to get their own riding gear. Wearing a helmet, carrying a valid ID proof & driving license is mandatory.
All guests will be responsible for the safety and security of their own luggage. We will not be at all responsible for the damaged/missing/lost luggage. So carry a small daypack bag to carry all the expensive things with you.
Compensation for any damage/accident done by you during an expedition to another property/person would be directly payable to you.
The advisable maximum size of baggage should not exceed 60 litres. Remember that you have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle and into the accommodation
