Grand Central Adventure: Where Vietnam’s Wonders Await You
Starting and finishing in the UNESCO Heritage Old Town of Hoi An, this tour encompasses some of the most beautiful and exciting roads in Vietnam. We journey through remote mountain valleys, hill tribe villages, gorgeous beaches, and the historical and cultural capital of the country.
We explore abandoned war sites and bases, the Imperial city of Hue, small villages, and towns in the mountains, and much more. With a full day in the incredible limestone karst mountains of Phong Nha National Park, this tour showcases the stunning Vietnamese landscape.
Opting for smaller roads and tracks, we avoid overcrowded tourist stops. We choose quality accommodation and sample some of Central Vietnam’s culinary delights.

Day 1 Arrival in Hoi An
Upon arrival in Hoi An, you’ll be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll meet your tour guide at the hotel. Together, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the local cuisine and customs.

Day 2 Hoi An to Mang Den
Leaving Hoi An, we ride to Tam Thanh Village, where we can admire the beautifully painted murals covering many of the buildings. These intricate paintings vividly depict the local culture, history, and daily life.
Next, we visit the Son My Memorial Museum, the site of the infamous My Lai massacre. The museum’s exhibits document the tragic events of 1968 and pay tribute to the innocent victims.
Afterwards, we head into the mountains to discover the stunning beauty of Vietnam’s countryside. We continue onward and upward to Mang Den, where at 1,200 meters, we can enjoy the cooler air and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 3 Mang Den to Dak To
We begin the day by riding along twisty roads through lush, green pine forests. Our first stop is to admire one of the many waterfalls in the area, where crystal-clear waters cascade down in a mesmerizing display of natural beauty.
Next, we stop at the famous wooden church in Kon Tum. This historic structure stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. You’ll admire the weathered wooden exterior, intricate carvings, and stunning stained glass windows.
Our journey continues to a hill tribe village, where giant stilt houses dominate the landscape. Here, you can explore the village and learn about the traditions and customs of the local people.

Day 4 Dak To to Kham Duc
We start the day by riding along small roads and tracks, leading us into remote areas. You’ll be amazed by the stepped rice paddy terraces in Ngoc Linh National Park, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Next, we visit a secret French prison from colonial times, a chilling reminder of Vietnam’s past. Explore the prison cells and learn about the horrific atrocities that occurred here, a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
We then experience the thrill of riding the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road, a historic highway that winds through the mountains and jungles of Vietnam. This iconic road is a dream come true for any rider and should not be missed.

Day 5 Kham Duc to Prao
We start the day by visiting the old runway at Kham Duc Airbase, a site that echoes the history of the Vietnam War era. Next, we ride along the Ho Chi Minh Road East, navigating its endless bends and curves while marveling at the breathtaking vistas.
Our journey takes us to Heaven’s Gate, a secluded paradise known for its cascading waterfalls. Here, you can swim in the cool, crystal-clear waters and let the gentle spray rejuvenate your senses.
We also discover the Co Tu tribe, an indigenous group that has called the mountains of Central Vietnam home for centuries. Immerse yourself in their rich cultural heritage and savour the flavours of their unique cuisine.

Day 6 Prao to Khe Sanh
Today, we follow the Ho Chi Minh Trail north along the Laos border, a legendary network of roads and paths used by the North Vietnamese army during the Vietnam War. Our journey takes us through the A Shau Valley and past Hamburger Hill, two iconic battlefields of the war. The A Shau Valley was the site of a major battle in 1968, while Hamburger Hill was the scene of a fierce battle in 1969.
We then enter the former Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), created to separate North and South Vietnam during the war. Now a peaceful area, the DMZ allows visitors to explore abandoned bunkers and other war relics.
Continuing through the central highlands of Vietnam, we pass through the Khe Sanh coffee farms before stopping for the night.

Day 7 Khe Sanh to Phong Nha
The day starts with a visit to the Khe Sanh Combat Base museum. This museum provides a glimpse into the intense fighting that took place here and is home to a collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that tell the story of the battle from both the American and Vietnamese perspectives.
Next, we ride the Ho Chi Minh Road West, probably the best ride in Vietnam. This legendary road winds through mountains and jungles, originally built during the war as a supply route for the North Vietnamese Army. It has since been embraced by travelers and adventurers.
We pass through mountains, jungles, and remote villages, offering a glimpse into a world largely untouched by modern civilization.
Entering Phong Nha National Park, we are suddenly surrounded by Jurassic-like scenery with towering limestone karst mountains covered in lush vegetation. The park is home to a variety of caves, grottoes, and underground rivers.

Day 8 Phong Nha Adventure Day
Today is a rest day with no riding. You’re free to explore the caves and activities in Phong Nha, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular locations. Phong Nha National Park boasts the world’s largest cave system, with several caves easily accessible for tourists.
You can opt for national park tours by car or bus, or perhaps enjoy a buffalo ride and other countryside activities. Alternatively, you can just relax by the pool and enjoy a drink or two.

Day 9 Phong Nha to Hue
We begin our journey riding along the picturesque coastline to the south, taking in breathtaking views of the azure waters and sandy beaches.
We wind our way through small fishing villages, where life moves at an unhurried pace. Along the way, you can explore the tunnels of Vinh Moc Village, where villagers lived underground for eight years during the war. This underground network of tunnels provided shelter from relentless bombing.
Next, you can marvel at the giant Tam Giang lagoon, the largest lagoon in Southeast Asia.
At the end of the day’s ride, enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Hue city. Sample the local cuisine, enjoy live music performances, and explore the bustling night markets, where you can find everything from traditional crafts to delicious street food.

Day 10 Hue Explorer Day
We start the day with a historical city tour by motorbike, weaving through narrow streets and passing by ancient landmarks.
Our first stop is the Imperial Palace of the Emperors, a magnificent complex that once housed the Nguyen Dynasty rulers. Here, you can learn about the history of Vietnam’s last imperial dynasty.
Next, we take a break to enjoy river views from Bunker Hill, where the bunkers were once used by the French during their war.
Just outside the city, we visit the giant mausoleums of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors. These impressive structures are a testament to the power and wealth of the Nguyen Dynasty.
We end the day in peace and tranquillity at Thien Mu Pagoda, a beautiful Buddhist temple located on the banks of the Perfume River. Here, you can relax and meditate in the serene surroundings of the temple.

Day 11 Hue to Hoi An
We start the day with a visit to the mysterious City of Ghosts cemetery, home to many elaborately decorated tombs. Next, we ride south and have lunch on the beach at the fishing village of Lang Co.
Afterwards, we tackle the epic Hai Van Pass, made famous by the TV show “Top Gear.” In the words of presenter Jeremy Clarkson, it’s “probably one of the best roads in the world!”
The pass leads us to the bustling city of Danang, where we’ll see the massive, fire-breathing Dragon Bridge.
Our journey ends in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An. You can explore the ancient town, full of traditional wooden houses and shops.
We conclude our adventure with a final meal in Hoi An, celebrating the experiences we’ve shared, which have created unforgettable memories—a fitting end to an extraordinary adventure.

Motorbike Mechanic.
This indicates the presence of a mechanic who is knowledgeable about motorbikes and can provide assistance and maintenance throughout the expedition. They are responsible for addressing any mechanical issues or breakdowns that may occur during the journey.
01 backup vehicle to carry luggage.
A backup vehicle is provided to carry luggage. Participants can store their belongings in the backup vehicle, allowing them to ride their motorbikes without carrying heavy baggage.
First aid box.
These are safety provisions included in case of any medical emergencies during the tour. The first aid box contains basic medical supplies to address minor injuries or ailments.
Experienced English-speaking road captain.
The road captain is a knowledgeable and experienced individual who leads the tour. They are fluent in English and guide the participants throughout the journey, ensuring smooth navigation and addressing any concerns or questions along the way.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 411cc.
This specifies the type of motorbike provided for the expedition. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a popular model known for its reliability and suitability for adventure or off-road riding.
Fuel.
Fuel for the motorbikes is included in the expedition package. This ensures that participants have a sufficient fuel supply to cover the distances travelled during the expedition.
Exclusions
- Personal expenses like Telephone, Laundry, Tips Table Drinks etc.
- Any type of insurance-Medical, Accidental, theft
- Any Airfare/Rail fare other than what is mentioned in “Inclusions”
- The cost incurred to transfer or tow the motorbike in case it is dropped on the way (Till our main office).
- Any cost incurred due to extension, change of itinerary due to natural calamities, roadblocks, vehicle breakdown, union issues and factors beyond our control (to be paid by the client directly on the spot)
- Anything that is not mentioned in the Inclusion sections.
- Tipping for the mechanic, backup driver, and guide, a suggested range is between £50 and £200, depending on the quality of service provided.
Important Informations
Things To Carry
Bike Gear (* required)
The easiest way to bring your riding gear is by wearing it on the flight if you need to transfer onto a smaller, national flight with luggage restrictions (Please check before you leave home). Should you only fly international flights to the meeting point, it’s easy to pack all this gear into a duffel bag, which can be folded and kept with your luggage which will travel in the backup van for the duration of your motorbike expdition.

Confirmation Policy
The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking
In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
Booking & payment conditions:
A deposit of 10% of the total cost of the Expedition is required at the time of booking.
The full payment (the remaining 90%) has to be done until 2 weeks before the start of the Expedition.

We require a minimum strength of 4 riders to operate one group with Backup.
If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the expedition operator on account of a hotel stay, transportation, meals, etc. extra bill will be raised.
Neither Motorbike Expeditions nor the participating partners/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.
Motorbike Expeditions is not responsible for any change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like changes in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomena, etc.
If any group member wants to leave the group in between the expedition then he/she has to pay the cost of transportation motorbike from the point of leaving the tour till the Main office drop.
Group members would have to get their own riding gear. Wearing a helmet, carrying a valid ID proof & driving license is mandatory.
All guests will be responsible for the safety and security of their own luggage. We will not be at all responsible for the damaged/missing/lost luggage. So carry a small daypack bag to carry all the expensive things with you.
Compensation for any damage/accident done by you during an expedition to another property/person would be directly payable to you.
The advisable maximum size of baggage should not exceed 60 litres. Remember that you have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle and into the accommodation
