How can I go to Spiti Valley from Manali
It is not necessary that you plan your Spiti valley trip from Manali, Bhuntar, Shoja, Kinnaur and then Spiti. You can also plan it directly to Kaza from Manali by Rohtang pass. If you have fewer days and just want to cover some major sightseeing points in Spiti then one can simply travel from Manali to Kaza. And then return back the same route after covering places like Komic, Hikkim, and Chandratal Lake.
Manali – Spiti – Kinnaur – Bhuntar
The other option is to plan an extended motorcycle tour on this route. Starting from Manali and then after covering Spiti, Kinnaur one can return back to Manali by Jalori pass. The only thing that you need for traveling on the Manali-Spiti route by Rohtang pass is the inner line permit. Which one can obtain from the bike provider or your tour organizer.

Rohtang La-Grampu

Gramphu to Chatru is about 17km but always keep one thing in mind that when traveling to Spiti, never calculate your time according to the distance because here 17km can take about one hour.
If you are traveling around July, your entire way will be flooded with water and you have to be very strong in order to accomplish your journey at that time.
Travelling in the other months will only vary the water level but the hardness to Spiti will always remain the same. After crossing Chatru one faces the most dangerous water crossing of Spiti valley called Chota Dara.
Batal-Chatru
This water crossing is so thrilling and dangerous than heavy vehicles like trucks also get stuck here sometimes. So you need to cross this Nala with the utmost care, without making any single mistake. After this, you have to head towards a place called Batal, which is located at a distance of 31km from Chatru. One can stop at Batal in order to warm up oneself by having some hot tea.
KunzumLa-Losar-Kaza
After Batal you need to prepare yourself to cross the famous Kunzum La, high altitude pass in Spiti valley. Which connects the Spiti valley with the entire district. Few hours of the journey later, one can reach a place called Losar and after that, the famous village of Kaza arrives.
After reaching Kaza, you can take a long breath of relief as thrilling part of your motorbike journey is now over. But when in the Himalayas there is something interesting and new always.
Komic-Hikkim-Kalpa-Nako
After reaching Kaza one can explore the nearby villages like Komic and Hikkim.
